I look forward to hearing this tribute song written for our returning service men and women. Although it is going to be introduced in a gift book format, I was wondering if there are any plans to release it to radio?

Dear Amy, Hi,

First off, let me say "THANK YOU" for the many years you have shared yourself, musical talents, christian beliefs and testimonies, and generosity of many forms with the world. You are such a wonderful role model.

I have and continue to be a huge fan of yours!

I'll never forget seeing you in concert for the first time at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. My husband at that time, (Bill Zajac), worked for TARGET. The employees from headquarters got tickets to a special show...AMY GRANT! I flew out of the chair in excitement when my husband told me we were going to get to see you live and up close in concert! This leads me to an apology of sorts. At that concert, you and your staff were kind enough to hand out these cool mini flashlights. For reasons I still don't understand, the audiance threw them back at you! I did not do that, but somehow I still felt...guilt...shame. Actually, I was mortified! I still remember the look of shock and dismay on your face. I'm so sorry that happened to you, Amy! I know it happened long ago, but I still feel I ought to apologize for that on behalf of my fellow Minnesotans.

I'm happy to see that you still come back to Minnesota to do concerts. Thank you for that!

You are my all time favorite, Amy...and I wish you the best.

Thanks again! GOD BLESS YOU!

Sincerely,

Christina Olsen

I'm not sure military personnel are going to be high on a Thank-You book written by a guy who wrote a glowing book about Obama and Rev Wright. The military on the whole is not excited about Obama. Interestingly and tragically, we have had the highest suicide and death rate in the war since his coming to power. If people do any digging into Mr Mansfield's work, they may stear clear of the book. I know I will.

Just to be clear - this book and song are not about Obama or Bush, Republicans or Democrats. This book is about welcoming home our soldiers who have served our country courageously. Stephen Mansfield is a respected writer who came to national attention when his book "The Faith of George W. Bush" made the New York Times bestseller list. His book "The Faith of Barack Obama" also made the NY Times bestsellers list. He has also written books on Winston Churchill and Paul Harvey. He is an outspoken supporter of our military men and women, which is the sole focus of the "Welcome Home" project.
